Dang it! 5 more minutes!!


Workout today was great! There isn't many people there when I go at 5 am and I am glad about that. The less people see a beached whale working out the better! lol Today as I was nearing the end of my 15 minutes on the elliptical my thighs were burning as usual. By this time my legs are jello and somehow they still manage to feel as though I have taken some type of habanero pepper lotion and smeared all over them. After all I do live in a dry climate. ;0) Ok continuing on, as I see my timer ever so beautifully counting down to the second I can stop the fire going on in my muscles, in walks this girl with her tight black workout pants. ( a size small I'm sure!)
She gets on the elliptical in front of me and start going like she is racing to the alter to marry Brad Pitt or something! I mean really! Is that why they put the machines in rows so we can see the skinny little tushes in front of us?? So i am thinking to myself, I am sure that little tart can eat whatever she wants and never gain a pound! She is probably going to get maple doughnuts after her workout! ( insert drooling face! ) Mind you I am saying all this in my head as my habanero lotion is still doing it job on my thighs!
Then I thought to myself I will be that girl someday! I read somewhere once, no matter what size you are, your always someone else's goal weight.
So as her size became my inspiration I decided I would go another 5 minutes! My legs were already on fire and I would have to buy stock in the Tylenol company anyway, so I might as well go another 5! So I did!

5 pounds lighter and ALOT smarter!

Ok so I have lost five pounds now! Yea me! Oh the things I have learned though. Let's start first with the expression if it seems to good to be true then it probably is. I went to the grocery store, looked up and down each aisle carefully and took my time, observing each and every label carefully. Trying to find the best calories and best sugar , fat, etc..... Here is what I learned( your learning could be different than mine, but here is mine ;0) I first thought hmmm... do I really need 2 percent milk? Skim milk can't be that different can it? We drank 2 percent anyway so I probably need to switch to the skim. Lesson learned: um , yes you do need 2 percent milk! Skim milk may be wonderful for some people but I have learned I need my milk a tad whiter than skim milk looks. Since they do not make a white food coloring I can't turn skim milk whiter. I mean have you ever seen skim milk, when I poured it I thought, well shoot I could just add water to the 2 percent and be set! Lesson 2: Not all pickles are created equal! Wouldn't you know before I started my diet I had just discovered my fondness for the amazing sweet thick bread and butter pickles, oh so good! Well to my shock and pleasant surprise when I was on the pickle aisle I found these zero calorie bread and butter pickles, regular bread and butter pickles have a measly 20 calories mind you! Between these and the 40 calorie bread I found I could see myself having yummy, delicious lettuce and tomato sandwiches with big thick slices of bread and butter pickles. That was until I got home. Insert sad smiley face. :0( I like my pickle nearly ice cold and these were not cold yet but they were AWFUL! Pickles should be crisp these were almost mushy! Yuck! They were made with Splenda , I have nothing against Splenda I use it all the time, but I think Splenda and pickles just should not mingle! Nothing good can come from it!! So my lessons I have learned so far are, even though some things are less calories sometimes it is just better to have the real thing but just in moderation! Which I guess if I had learned that along time ago I wouldn't need to lose the wieght!

Yes, you did get up today at 4:30 am to workout !

So I joined a great fitness center here. We're very fortunate to have a very big hospital here in our town. ( probably due somewhat to the overweight population ) this fitness center is part of our hospital system. It is awesome all the advanced equipment, heated pool, spa, the works! Little pricey but WELL worth it! And I got a free water bottle! Sweet! lol The other night I woke up around 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep. As I was laying there, I heard myself say you know the fitness center opens at 5 am. I thought for a second, was I still asleep? I must have still been asleep......did you hear what you just said..... this was coming from the person who could eat 800 maple doughnuts! But I have finally decided I want to be healthy!!! And skinny in a great pair of jeans is pretty good motivation also!!!! And to my surprise it was awesome! I got there and you know what OTHER PEOPLE WERE THERE! I didn't think the world was even up at 5 am! So after my shock wore off at the fact there were other people there I had a great workout and even swam and got in the hot tub! Yea me! I felt awesome the whole day afterwards! So lesson for today other people are up at 5 am and workouts me you feel great!!! So keep it up! I am!

Even emails are against us losing weight!

So I check my email tonight and guess what's WEIGHTING for me??? First from Chili's Grill & Bar, kids eat FREE! So let's examine this one first, I can go to Chili's and get some 8000 calorie dinner and I can take my son and get him a 4000 calorie dinner free! Wahoo! I think not, my son hasn't gotten the overweight gene of mine, YET! So I think I will pass on the offer from Chili's.
Then here is the even better offer from my emails. We all know about Dairy Queen right?!?! Well here is what it said: We have two reasons for you to celebrate the New Years! Buy One Get One Free Blizzards! And if you happen to know about these blizzards they are vanilla ice cream, but wait not only is it vanilla ice cream they have a million choices of toppings to go on it, with a million more calories to add to , yes , say it with me to the ice cream! So as I have found out tonight our journey of losing weight in this world is even harder than we thought! They have spies I tell you! lol Oh yes she started to lose weight guys lets go! Supersize free her!!! But little do they know I have made my mind up to have 2011 be my last fat year EVER! So stick with me! We can do it together!

So who has losing wieght as your New Years Resolution !?!?

Why yes, I am a Texas Princess! At least I feel like it anyway. Real Princess no, a true native Texan , you betcha!  We always see stars on television that have babies and then miraculously look afterwards like they never gained a pound! Admit it you've noticed! Well the other day I was talking to someone and as usual weight was mentioned. As I always do, I said, yes I gained 100 lbs after I had my son. She asked me how old my baby was and to my embarrassment I had to say......... he was 9 years old last month. NINE YEARS OLD! Do you hear whats coming out of your mouth???  Your saying in 9 years you couldn't have lost the weight by now???  That is 3,285 days and you couldn't lose 75 pounds?
Pathetic is all I could think of...... So the embarrassment of the experience has made me determined to become the shrinking Texas Princess!!! I hope you will follow me on my journey!
